End of April - spring heart opening pose

During this spring energy we will focus on balancing with Ardha chandra chapasana which is an intermediate to advanced balancing asana that is an extension of ardha chandrasana. The name is derived from the Sanskrit, ardha, meaning "half," Chandra, meaning “moon," chapa, meaning “bow," and asana, meaning "pose." To enter this pose, it is easiest to begin in ardha chandrasana, half moon pose. With an exhale bend the knee of the extended leg and grasp the foot with the top hand. Inhale to expand the chest, opening the heart center. Keeping the hips aligned bring a back bend into the spine and take the drishti (gaze) to the sky. Breath for three to six breaths then release the foot and leg back to the ground. Repeat on the opposite side.
